Landscape Design
Site analysis, master plans, planting palettes, and 3D renderings — produced as architectural deliverables that contractors can build to and homeowners can live with.
Overview
Most residential landscape work fails because it isn’t designed — it’s assembled. Our design service produces drawings the way a residential architect produces a building set: site survey, conceptual plan, planting plan, 3D rendering, and a phased construction plan. The result is a property that hangs together because every element was chosen against the same brief.
Topography, sun, soil, drainage, and views — measured and mapped before pen hits paper.
Plan-view drawings with every element specified by name, size, and quantity.
Photo-realistic visualizations so you can see the design before committing to a build.
Survey-grade base map with topography, soils, sun exposure, and existing vegetation.
Plan-view design with hardscape footprints, planting masses, and circulation.
Every specimen identified by botanical name, size, quantity, and location.
Photo-realistic walkthroughs of the finished design for review and approval.
Detail sheets and a phased schedule any qualified contractor can build to.
Stone, lighting fixtures, irrigation components — every product specified by SKU.
Our Approach
Walk the property with you, record use patterns, photograph existing conditions, identify constraints and aspirations.
Topographic survey, utility marking, vegetation inventory, drainage observation.
Two design directions presented for review; we refine the preferred direction over a working session.
Final plan-view, planting plan, and 3D renderings produced and reviewed.
Detail sheets, specifications, and phased schedule completed and handed over.
Common Questions
Yes. Many clients use our design service to develop a master plan they then phase over years or build out with another contractor. The deliverables are designed to be buildable by any qualified firm.
A single-property master plan typically runs 8–12 weeks from kickoff to delivery. Larger estates with extensive renderings or planning approvals can run 4–6 months.
Residential design fees range from 1.5–3% of construction cost for a master plan, with a typical floor of $12,000 for the package described above.
For residential master plans we provide drawings prepared by licensed designers. Civil engineering stamps for grading, drainage, and walls over 4 feet are coordinated through our partner firms when required.
A senior designer will walk the property and propose a design scope and schedule.
